The music industry is over populated with amateurs hoping that they will one day have a chance to get to the ultimate level that is a super star. Most artists think that the music is what they are selling when in reality the music is just a part of an entire product that has to be sold which is you, the artist.
What people are buying is the entire artist and everything that they do. So if you can show your audience who you are and what you do beyond the music, then you have a brand that people can get behind and continue to relate and support because they can see the person behind the artist. Being able to relate to your fan base is vital to be able to survive in the music industry. Especially when we live in a world where everything is instant. Most millennials are use to instant entertainment that only lasts 30 seconds to 2 minutes and then on to the next content.
When you have kids going from media to media so quickly, you must have a consistent presence on their feed and plenty of support media so that a possible fan can continue to stay on your side of the internet. If you can keep someone hooked to your media for more than one clip, song, image, or whatever it might be, then you could have yourself a lifetime fan. So keep building relationships to make fans for life. Every fan can make another fan and so on. Now go build relationships!
